Surgery Update
Thank you for the support, kind words and patience that is being offered by you all, this really helps our busy team and boosts morale and shows a true community spirit.
Based on figures from 30/01/2021 we have currently vaccinated 90% of our over 80’s cohort of patients and 90% of our 75-79 year old patients. We are vaccinating our Health and Social Care Workers and if you are an employed or self-employed Health and Social Care Worker please email the surgery and in the subject line put ‘FAO the Practice Manager’, I will then send your details to our booking team to verify and book your vaccination. Likewise, if you are aware of a person who falls in to the above categories please ask them to contact us or let us know so we can contact the patient directly. These figures will be higher when the systems have synchronised between sites.
On Friday 29/01/2021 our additional hours support service started to deliver the vaccine to our housebound patients. They will be delivering the vaccine alongside supporting us as normal so please do not be alarmed if you are not contacted immediately. I have requested updates from the service provider so that I can keep you all up to date.
For the coming week we are expecting to get approx. 1000 doses of the vaccine, these will be apportioned between the PCN ensuring that all surgeries have an equal split based on patients registered and we will continue to delivery this vaccine in the normal way. We are expecting this delivery towards the end of this week.
We are now delivering the vaccine to our 70-74 year old group and Clinically Extremely Vulnerable patients, as previously your call may not come immediately but we are working through our list and we will contact you. We have delivered the vaccine to 40% of this cohort and will continue to contact this group over the coming week, please do not worry if you have not received a call yet as we still have slightly over 300 patients to call.
We will next week be changing the way we contact you to book a vaccine. In order to make booking quicker we are going to send a text to a set number of patients inviting you to call the surgery and select option 4. This will make booking appointments more efficient and should increase the speed we can book eligible cohorts in, it should also help us to handle our day to day tasks. We would ask that you do not call the surgery and select that option unless you have received a text as you will stall the process and make it more difficult to work through our lists. If you fall in to the 80+, 75 – 79 ago cohort or are a Health and Social Care Worker that has not yet received the vaccine please call us and select the option above so we can organise you receiving the vaccine.
We will not ask you to complete any forms online, nor will we ask for money or personal details via text, if we change our process it will be announced over Facebook and our website. We will only ask you to contact us so you can be sure you are speaking to the surgery. Please as previously mentioned be aware of scammers, if unsure please call us.
Last week our Letchworth site wasted no vaccine, we managed to use each dose before the expiration meaning we vaccinated as many patients as the dosing would allow so a big well done to all the clinical staff! We have been notified that we delivered 5,126 Covid vaccinations in January.
